On April 15th, Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs and Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Rural Work Committee attended the symposium focusing on affairs involving the Third Sichuan Agricultural Fair and the Chengdu International Urban Modern Agricultural Expo (hereinafter referred to as “Agriculture Fair”) to be held. Zheng Li (the Director of Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs), Yang Qinglong (the Deputy Director of Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs), Yang Xiubin and Liu Tie (deputy directors of Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Rural Work Committee) as well as representatives from related departments of 2 institutions took their presence.

The Agricultural Fair is one of the three government-led events that were approved by related authorities to be held since strict national regulations/standards on celebrations, seminars, forums and exhibitions had been launched (the other 2 are Western China International Fair and Mianyang International Hi-Tech Expo). It will take place along with Chengdu International Urban Modern Agricultural Expo as planned to better its functions in promoting modern agriculture and opening-up. At the symposium, the two sides discussed and roughly agreed on overall plan, work divisions, budget and management, laying a favorable foundation for later works.

This Agricultural Fair is led by Sichuan Provincial People’s Government and organized by Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China’s Rural Work Committee, Sichuan Bureau of Expo Affairs and Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, to be held at Chengdu Century City New Convention and Exhibition Center during November 19th~23rd. There are expected to be new-style agricultural operators hall, agricultural cooperation hall and other 5 halls (covering a total area of 100,000m2) and auxiliary activities.
